Campaign
In the trenches with the candidates in Wellington Central’s first MMP election

HELP WANTED!

I'm working on an independent documentary feature film, "Campaign", which is a journey into the trenches with the Wellington Central candidates during the historic 1996 election campaign. The film is the story of these people... what does it take to be a candidate, and what does it take to win?

We need some help. Independent filmmaking may sound romantic (that's what I keep telling my bank manager anyway) but it is very difficult making a film happen without any institutional support. The edit is nearing completion, and the film is looking very good indeed. Our next challenge is to actually get the thing to its audience, the New Zealand voting public.

If you have anything to offer we want you... time, energy, ideas, enthusiasm, skills in promotion or marketing, contacts, general management ability... whatever you've got, really!

I've decided to borrow from the candidates and create a sort of Campaign campaign - we've called it the Supporters Club. With no obligation and at no cost, we'd very much appreciate it if you'd drop by the Campaign website (www.unreal.co.nz) and sign up for the Campaign Supporters Club mailing list. Then we can all get down to figuring out how to take the next steps.

Thanks... I look forward to meeting you.
